Areef Majid – Islamic State’s Indian Recruit

Areef Majeed, one of five youths who had left Mumbai to join ISIS was rescued by the Indian authorities in Turkey. Currently, he is being interrogated by NIA and will remain in Central agency till December 8. It was reported that Majeed had spent some six months with ISIS and might be having important information. The Government wants to send a message across to all the youths that is just not worth signing up for ISIS and Majeed would be a ideal case study.In conversation with Niti Central, journalist Vicky Nanjappa discussing how the Government of India handled Majeed’s case and what measure would be taken so that such incidents do not happen in the future.Having failed to make inroads in India, the terror groups – ISIS and al-Qaeda have come up with a new idea to set up their terror shops in India. This startling piece of information was revealed by the Director of Intelligence Bureau Arif Ibrahim, at a conference of top police officials in Guwahati on Saturday. He said that both the terror outfits are wooing young Indians living abroad to help them in spreading terror in India.
